My 2016 plans

2016 is a big running year for me as I plan to complete my first ultra run. My goal will be to finish as I have not run this distance before and I haven’t done a marathon in any form for 5 years.

To date my race plans include:

Saturday 13th February Dukeries 10 – 10 miles on the Robin Hood Way through Sherwood Forest. I’ve done this before and have a time to beat…

Saturday 27th February Belvoir Challenge 15 – 15 miles on tracks and trails around the Vale of Belvoir. I’m told this is very muddy but the cake is great!

Sunday 6th March The Longhorn half marathon – another trail run in Sherwood Forest

Saturday 19th March Coniston 14 – a 14 mile road race around Lake Coniston. Yes, it’s a road race but I’ve done it before and I love it!

Saturday 14th May Dukeries 30 – my first ultra, again on the Robin Hood Way

Saturday 18th June White Peak trail run – 15.5 miles around the Peak District

Saturday 23rd / Sunday 24th July – Thunder Run (in a team of 4/5)

Saturday 20th August – Peak District intro ultra – another 30 miler, this time a hilly one

Add to this list cross-country league events and parkruns – it’s going to be a busy year!
